Oil and acrylic on canvas
24” x 24”

This is third of the ten pieces in the ’Manifest’ series. While the manifested metaphor in this one is possibly the most straightforward, of the ten paintings, this one has the closest personal connection to me.

Spoiler alert: this is my favourite piece in the entire show. I first thought up this image way back in university – back in late 2000s. At the time, I didn’t have enough confidence in painting skills at the time to even attempt painting a figure. But if there was a time to finally get it out of my head and put it on canvas, now was the time.

I’m not sure it still worked out exactly as I’ve pictured it in my head, but I’m pretty happy with it.
