This is the ninth of the ten pieces in the ’Manifest’ series. A physical meltdown, to mirror the meltdown inside your mind.

The drip effect was actually easy to achieve with the oil paint. I thought I’d have to use a solvent like turpentine or other paint thinners. But all I had to use was a generic oxy-based cleaner. Just sprayed it on, and let the cleaner do its work. And as a bonus, the room just smelled like spring cleaning rather than harsh chemicals.

Mind you, I love the smell of paint thinner. But my wife doesn’t. And given that our bedroom was my studio at the time, and I care about her well-being, the cleaning solution was best.

Also, side note, this painting freaks my wife out. She had me cover it up while I was working on it. I can’t imagine why…
