Originally 11” x 11” each

This is the ‘Decay’ series.
We’ve reached the breaking point. Very little of the drawings are left, as grief has wiped the slate clean. We’re really in the throes of it now, the memories becoming faded, battered, and torn to the point of destruction. For myself, this particular assault of grief took the longest to traverse. I was stuck here for a long time – all previous memories tarnished and blank. All new ones fleeting and broken.
However, this isn’t always permanent. The thing about blank slates is that they can sometimes be restored.
This actually didn’t get a chance to be hung at the Station Gallery in the original opening. This is all one piece, again more sculptural like the ‘Altered’ series. The full piece is first, followed by three photos of the separate sections. I’ve never really done anything quite like this piece before. The nice thing about this, and all the other series, is that they can work with whatever space is given.
For instance, this was hung in our bedroom, where I don’t have the most wall space. But the three pieces on the right can really be extended as far as the space allows, leading the eye into the next series of drawings. The final series of drawings.
