‘Occultatum’ is the Latin word for ‘hidden’, which ties into the idea of occupying a space. A trespasser will try to remain hidden, whether it is you or a stranger encroaching on a space.
Not even just physical presence in space, but also emotional presence. We all put up walls about what we’re feeling, and emotion can twist the familiar into the unfamiliar just as much as a physical intrusion.
What could be hidden behind the façade of a familiar space?
